Lara Ibrahim is a DPhil in Law student at the Faculty of Law. Her research looks at the intersection of climate change and human rights, looking specifically at the extraterritorial human rights obligations of States in relation to environmental harm and climate change. She is supervised by Professor Lavanya Rajamani and Dr. Ekaterina Aristova. In 2023/24, Lara was a Judicial Fellow at the International Court of Justice, working with the Vice-President of the Court. She assisted with research on the pending cases at the Court, including the Advisory Opinion on Climate Change. Lara is a Lecturer in Law at Oriel College and a Graduate Teaching Assistant in Public International Law for the Faculty of Law in Oxford. She is also a Blog Editor for the Oxford Human Rights Hub, a Graduate Resident Researcher at the Bonavero Institute of Human Rights, and has previously worked as a Research Assistant with the Climate Litigation Lab at the Smith School.
